Peoria, AZ is a major suburb to the west of Phoenix. Currently it is the sixth largest city in Arizona for land area and the ninth largest for population. In the 1880's, settlers were drawn to this area of Arizona because of the agriculture. However, today people move here for all the great things it has to offer from baseball to work! In July 2008, Money Magazine listed Peoria in the Top 100 Places to Live!

If you are a baseball fan, you will love living in Peoria, AZ as spring training has a long history in Peoria. It began back in 1970 at a small sports complex for minor-league training. In 1994, the new Peoria Sports Complex was completed and both major-league teams, the San Diego Padres and the Seattle Mariners, utilize the complex year round. What better way to spend a sunny afternoon than at the ballpark!


If you enjoy boating, water activities,nor camping out, you will not be disappointed in Peoria, AZ. Lake Pleasant, located northwest of Peoria, is approximately 10,000 acres of "fun in the sun." The lake boasts a number of boat docks and plenty of beach access to enjoy scuba diving, water skiing, jet skiing, sailing, windsurfing, and other water sports. You will also find numerous campgrounds where you can spend the weekend!

If you enjoy science, you can spend the day at the Challenger Space Center of Arizona that is located in Peoria. Here you will find satellite exhibits, a life-sized Iridium satellite model, and many more attractions. Adults can take classes (beginning in 2017) and children can even "catch a planet!"

Peoria also offers live stage entertainment at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts. Whether you are seated in the Mary Jane Gyder Main Stage Theater or the McMillin Black Box Theater, you will not be disappointed by the performance. Youth performances and summer camps are also offered for children.
