Fountain Hills, AZ

Fountain Hills, AZ is located in the northeast area from Scottsdale. It is neighbors with the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation and the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. The town was developed by C.V. Wood and was named after the towering man-made fountain in the center of town. It was incorporated in 1989 so it is a fairly new city.

Fountain Hills has the world's fourth tallest fountain in the center of the town. The man-made fountain built in 1970 by Robert P. McCulloch, spews water to a height of 562 feet once per hour for about 15 minutes when all three pumps are operating. Typically, only two of the pumps are operating so the water height reaches about 300 feet.

A local art fair, the Fountain Hills Great Fair that has a carnival as well as art, and the Thunderbird Artists' Fountain Hills Fine Art & Wine Affaire! If you love to golf, Fountain Hills offers year round golf at three public golf courses! All three courses are a par-71 and offer stunning mountain backdrops, rolling hills, and lush desert terrain. No matter your skill level, each course brings something different to the table. Whether it is a 100-foot drop from the tee or over sized greens that are mostly flat, you will not be disappointed.
