The Scottsdale Gallery Association’s Gold Palette ArtWalk — themed monthly events that complement the organization’s weekly Thursday ArtWalk along the Scottsdale Arts District — announces it’s December 13 ArtWalk, a holiday-themed event to coincide with the City of Scottsdale’s month-long holiday extravaganza, Scottsdazzle.
The Scottsdazzle Gold Palette ArtWalk has extended hours from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and participating galleries will be featuring special artists’ receptions and “holiday themed” beverages. Throughout the event, guests can also enjoy a visit from Santa and festive holiday songs from strolling carolers while they peruse galleries to find the perfect gift for art-loving friends and family.
Inspired by the famous Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas markets in Germany) and Seinfeld's Festivus, a parody and secular holiday celebrated in an episode of the show, Phoestivus was born to be the perfect all-inclusive December celebration.
The Phoestivus holiday markets feature locally grown and produced gifts for holiday giving from more than 150 local vendors that showcase a variety of locally grown, produced and prepared foods as well as hand-crafted gift items, jewelry and holiday decorations by local artisans. Last year more than 6,000 participants and shoppers gathered in downtown Phoenix for these two nights of local shopping. The Phoenix event boasts traditions like the Phoestivus Pole, Pheats of Strength, and the Airing of Grievances as well as Phoestivus Ale (brewed by Phoenix Ale Brewery), Phoestivus Reindeer (baby goats dolled up for the occasion) and a hipster Santa.
Celebrate the “most wonderful time of the year” at MIM! Join the annual holiday program featuring musical performances and holiday-themed activities. MIM will transform into a musical “Winter Wonderland” with songs and musical traditions that spread tidings of good cheer around the world throughout this season.
This popular wine around now includes an ale trail option for beer lovers! Wine and beer aficionados can pick their poison —and their own path — while exploring the best of Scottsdale’s local wines or ales. Guests are encouraged to start at any of the participating wineries and breweries, whether choosing a past favorite or a yet-to-be-discovered hidden gem, and then let their “vino instincts” or “suds senses” lead them to their next tasting destination on the wine around or ale trail. Preregistration not required.
Participants that choose the ale trail will receive a commemorative pint glass, while those who prefer the wine trail will receive a commemorative wine glass — (one glass per guest). Each “stop” on the Wine Trail will offer three 1 oz. pours for $8 plus additional specials for the Ale Trail to those who come dressed in holiday spirit — as Santa, Mrs. Claus or even an elf!
